1,700 Households Flood Relief

The unusual heavy downpour in the month of December 2021 has caused flash floods in many areas in Malaysia. One the worst hit areas is a village in Bukit Lanchong, Subang Jaya, which is located along the overflowed river.

More than 1,700 households’ daily were badly affected. The daily lives of families here are paralyzed, even cooking utensils were all gone. Massive cleaning and re-building efforts are still ongoing daily at the time of writing.

'What A Waste' (WaW) and 'Community 360' social service NGOs took the initiative to set up a temporary on-site kitchen to prepare Halal meals to feed more than 1,700 affected families here, starting from 03 Jan 2022 for a duration of 2 weeks.

In respond to the call for help, RIMAU Public Benefit Project is honored to contribute 1,000 kilograms of rice in its ‘1 Tonne Rice’ Feed Up ESG program for the month of January 2022 to help feed the affected families at Bukit Lanchong, Selangor, Malaysia.
